PLASTIC Engineering

ABOUT BRANCH :

Plastic Technology Department was started in year 1992 by the Govt. of rajasthan to cater the need of Plastics industries of the Western and northern region of the country. The department is running three year diploma course and  intake capacity of this branch is about 20 students per year. The syllabi is designed as per the industries requirement and AICTE, that’s why students of this branch can undergo entrepreneurial activity as well as, join plastic industries anywhere in India and abroad. The department also has good plastic processing, testing and analysis laboratories. The students are taught by well qualified and experienced faculties (B.Tech. in Plastic tech, M.Tech. in plastic Tech and some of them perusing Ph. D.) and are having good knowledge of  compounding of polymer / processing / testing of plastics and polymers / design of dies and mold / FRP technology /Rubber tech. / Fiber Tech / Foams and adhesives/ Engineering polymers. The department is also running its own library besides central library.

               LATERAL ENTRY (Direct 2nd Year) -  04 seats

DURATION : 03 Years

  • The passed out students can also do entrepreneurial activity.
  • Students are placed in plastic processes, testing and manufacturing  industries.
  • They can also be placed in the field of marketing and software development.
  • Students of this branch can also be move to higher qualification after diploma, such as B. Tech. in Plastic Tech./ Polymer and rubber Tech./ Petroleum Engg. / Petrochemicals Engg. / Chemical Engg. etc. via lateral entry.
