Department of Zoology

INTRODUCTION

Established in 1959, the Department of Zoology is dedicated to providing quality undergraduate education in animal sciences through a strong foundation in theory and practical learning. The department offers the B.Sc. program, covering diverse areas such as biodiversity, ecology, physiology, genetics, and environmental biology etc. It aims to develop scientific temper, analytical skills, and environmental awareness among students while preparing them for higher studies and careers in biological sciences.

Vision

To nurture scientifically competent, ethically responsible, and environmentally conscious youth who excel at global standards and contribute to the advancement of Zoology through innovation, research, biodiversity conservation, and dedicated service to society.

Mission

 To provide quality undergraduate education in Zoology by fostering academic excellence, scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and ethical values among students.

 To cultivate environmental awareness and practical skills through laboratory work, field studies, and experiential learning, empowering students to contribute to biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, and the welfare of society.
