Government Meera Girls’ College, situated in the picturesque city of Lakes, Udaipur, is the first and the largest postgraduate women’s college in southern Rajasthan. The college is affiliated with Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur.

The college is named after ‘MEERA’ who renounced royal life and embraced sainthood in her devotion to Lord Krishna; thus, a symbol of dedication, trueness and honesty for attaining life-goals through educational values.

The college has witnessed growth over the years- from offering courses at the intermediate level since its inception in 1956, promoted to undergraduate level in 1959 and since 1977 offering postgraduate courses. Currently, 26 UG and 19 PG programs are offered in Arts, Commerce and Science faculty. College is maintaining high academic standards and catering educational needs of girl students in the tribal heartland of Rajasthan.

To develop the overall personality of the students’ various co-curricular activities are regularly conducted by NSS, NCC, YDC and Rangering. These sundry activities explore the latent potential of students and provide a platform to express. The students of Meera Girls College have earned accolades in sports under competent guidance and training. The Woman Study Cell, inter-disciplinary forum, Career and Placement Cells provide unparalleled opportunities for girls to display their creative potentials and talent.

The college is well-equipped with the necessary infrastructure like a separate library building, administrative block, computer lab, internet wi-fi facility, three hostels with comfortable residential facilities. Central to the course delivery or student learning, the qualified teaching faculty devoted to their responsibilities. College provides convivial environs and freedom to its faculties for teaching, research, and other professional responsibilities.

The college has been accredited ‘A’ grade by NAAC valid up toMay 2027 and is also a beneficiary of RUSA since 2015.
