ACADEMIC LABS

The college is having a total of 18 spacious laboratories for managing practical classes. Science faculty departments are equipped with the latest instruments such as Microscope with Photography facility, Spectrophotometer, Cryostat, Microtome, Laminar Air Flow, Electrophoresis, Precision Balance, anemometer, psychrometer, lux meter, Soil Thermometer, pH meter, autoclave hi-speed centrifuge, Oscilloscope etc. The aim is to provide students conceptual as well as practical understanding of the subject through hands-on training. Life Science (Botany and Zoology) laboratories have all the necessary infrastructure and equipment to conduct practical in the field of Cell Biology, Ecology, Entomology, Fisheries, Limnology, etc.

The college is having a total of 6 computer labs. Computer Science, Commerce and Geography departments are equipped with computer laboratories. The college has a zoological museum well stocked with invertebrate and vertebrate specimens, herbaria and two botanical gardens for Life Science students.

 Smart Science Laboratory is also established with a comprehensive range of virtual and augmented reality experiments and supporting learning resources in science subjects.

In the faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities Psychology, Home Science and Geography departments are enriched with well-equipped laboratories. The geography lab contains an extensive topographic map collection, various aerial photos, plane table, the odolite and teaching aids essential for lab experiments. The Department of psychology is equipped with test batteries, Verbal, non-verbal and performance tests are available in the lab. Students are trained to familiarize themselves with numerous test and obtain realistic capabilities in their administration, scoring and interpretation.

Apart from this, the college has one IT centre where students can take customized computer training according to their requirements. The IT Centre is equipped with twenty-five computers with appropriate furniture. A dedicated internet connection is available, all the computers in the lab are connected through LAN. It also has two all-in-one printers. The lab also has a mounted LCD projector along with a smartboard. In 2018 Microsoft Office Specialist training was provided to faculty members and college students by Microsoft India Pvt Ltd under an MOU signed between Commissionerate, College Education Rajasthan, Jaipur and Microsoft India Pvt Ltd. Faculty members use this centre for work related with admissions, scholarship, university theory and practical examination too. Skill development courses under MMKY scheme also run in this lab. The Internet connection available with the IT centre also caters for the connectivity needs of the administrative block.

IT LAB

The college has a well ventilated IT centre with sufficient number of computers and internet facility. The IT centre facilitates the smooth functioning of all technical works concerning the college administration, various departments and committees.

Students of the college make ample use of this IT centre. An average of 100 students per day make use of computers in the IT centre. The centre proves beneficial and provides computer training to newly admitted students. Most importantly this IT centre plays a significant role in the Online admission process every session. It provides computers with internet facilities to the staff and students of the college.

The centre contributes significantly in easy and fast communication between the college and the Commissionerate, Collectorate, University and other institutions. The IT centre caters to the needs of the students and staff of the college.

SMART SCIENCE LAB

The students of Government Meera Girls’ College have access to cutting edge technology Smart Science Laboratory.

This state of art laboratory operational in college provides an e- learning platform which employs computer simulations, animation, videos, etc. to impart the student experience of practical experimentation without being physically involved, as they do in wet laboratories.

The Virtual reality equipment creates artificial world which is seemingly real gives almost a realistic experience, alongside Augmented reality; another unique technology which augments the reality by blending natural surroundings with digital content, can also be experienced in the laboratory.
