About the Department: - Civil Engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the different types of structures, including structures like bridges, roads, canals, dams and buildings.

The Department of civil Engineering has qualified and experienced staff which helps to develop understanding of the discipline to young minds of students. Both the theoretical and experimental aspects are addressed.

Objectives:

•To Develop competent civil engineers with professional skills, knowledge, abilities & attitude for wage employment and to become entrepreneur.

• 

•Provide opportunities and develop competence to work as a leader, manager or team member in multidisciplinary civil engineering works and projects.

•Develop effective communication skills - Verbal, Written and Graphical, to justify technical solutions for diverse targets associated with civil engineering works.

•Develop understanding towards use of different codes - local, national and international, for execution of civil engineering works.

•Encourage and provide necessary technical knowledge, skills and opportunities for higher education and exploring different learning strategies for life-long learning.

•Provide opportunities and develop responsible professionals in terms of ethics and value systems.

 

Activities:

Infrastructure developed during project works

• Civil Engineering department established in year 2012-13 in the College and running successfully with full intake of students every year. Infrastructure in Civil Engineering Department has been developing since 2015.
• Consultancy works done for different Govt. departments to execute Civil Engineering works.

Skills developed/ program outcomes: 

• Demonstrate the application of fundamental knowledge of mathematics, science, and civil Engineering to solve problems related to civil engineering works like – Highways, Railways, Airways, Irrigation, Sanitary Supply System of different sites etc.
• Planning, designing of different types of Structures and Buildings.
• Collect samples, conduct experiments / tests and report results pertaining to civil engineering for execution of quality work.
• Gain knowledge of modern techniques, materials and machineries for civil engineering construction works.
• Ensure quality materials and workmanship as per IS codes.
• Hands on experience using computer aided software (CAD) to plan, design and create building or infrastructure arrangements.
• Ensure commitment to quality, timeliness and continuous improvement.
