About the Department of Textile Design

 

Textiles are used by all people. Textiles design deals with yarns of all kinds used for making cloths, curtains, furniture upholstry, carpets, towels, embroidery etc. The course aims to prepare professionals for the textile and textile industries, with creative, technical, product developing capabilities and merchandising exposure.

 

 

 

Objectives of the Department of Textile Design

 

• To Assist students to understand social, scientific and technological changes which influence textile usage and design.
• Develop students ‘awareness of design.
• To know and understand the principle of designing and constructing with fibres, yarns and fabrics;to understand the properties of fibres, yarns and fabrics in relations to its user.
• To develop the skill in designing and constructing on textiles to achieve goals.
• Analyzing and evaluating textiles structures and designs.
