Canteen Menu
A Canteen has a very important place in any college. This is the place, which is important not only for food but also for making some of the best memories of college life. Since many students come from far off places, it is essential to have nutritious food and refreshments at affordable prices for the students to actively participate in the daily academic activities. The College Canteen plays an important role in this regard by meeting the daily requirements of the students and staff members.
Providing nutritious and quality food at reasonable prices. To create an attractive and varied menu to meet the nutritional needs of the students. To develop good and healthy eating habits among the students. To maintain good ambience and good aesthetics of the canteen.
Canteen is primarily responsible for serving nutritious and hygienic food to the students and staff. It also provides food to the students living in the campus. The canteen remains open from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm on working days. Only one common eating facility (Canteen facility) will be provided in the campus for the students of the college, teaching and non-teaching staff of the college. The management is fully committed to maintain the quality of the canteen food for the maximum benefit of all concerned.
Functions of Canteen Committee
The committee should ensure healthy and safe work environment for the canteen staff and should counsel and motivate the staff on various duties as well
Other functions of the canteen committee are as follows :
Menu Planning and Pricing: The committee decides on the food menu and sets prices that are reasonable for students while maintaining the canteen’s profitability.
Quality Control: Ensures that the food provided is of good quality, fresh, and hygienic. This includes overseeing the storage and preparation of food.
Supplier Management: They may handle the selection of food suppliers, ensuring that products are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
Student Feedback: Collecting feedback from students about the canteen’s food quality, variety, and service, and using it to make improvements.
Staff Management: Overseeing the canteen staff, ensuring they are properly trained and motivated, and that they adhere to food safety and cleanliness standards.
Event Coordination: Organizing special events, themed food days, or promotions in the canteen to keep the atmosphere engaging and offer variety to the students.
Health and Hygiene Compliance: Ensuring that the canteen follows all health regulations and safety guidelines, including proper sanitation and food handling procedures.
Conflict Resolution: Addressing any issues or complaints raised by students or staff regarding food quality, pricing, or service.
