Mama Baleshwar Dayal Government College Kushalgarh, the holy land of Vagad, is located 60 km from Banswara division on the Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh border. The college was established in 1990 with Arts and Commerce Faculty. The college was approved to be named Mama Baleshwar Dayal Government College Kushalgarh on 27 March 2001 by the order of the state government. Messiah of the poor, freedom fighter, socialist thinker Mama Baleshwar Dayal was born on 10 March 1905 in Etawah (U.P.). In this tribal dominated area, his contribution towards education, social evils and public awakening was unparalleled. Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Geography, Sociology, History, Political Science, Economics subjects are being conducted in the Arts Faculty in the college from the beginning. Due to negligible number of students in this field, the Commerce Faculty was closed after ten years of its establishment. The college was upgraded to postgraduate (Hindi and Geography) in April 2017 and Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics subjects were opened in the Science Faculty on 6 July 2018. The college has 600 seats in the undergraduate Arts Faculty and 88-88 seats in Biology and Mathematics streams in the Science Faculty and 60-60 seats in Hindi Literature and Geography subjects in postgraduate. In 2016, RUSA allocated Rs 2 crore to the college for college development. As per the policy of the college, the college was recognized by UGC under section 1956 in 2F and 12B on 29 March 2005. Two units of National Service Scheme and one unit of Rover Ranger are operating in the college. About 2300 regular students are studying in the college. The college is currently affiliated to Govind Guru Tribal University, Banswara. The college is moving ahead on the path of continuous development on the theme of enthusiasm among students and trust among parents. The monogram of the college depicts the Veena-playing Goddess Saraswati and the motto 'Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya', which is a symbol of positive energy and the purest form of knowledge.
