BOTANICAL GARDEN

Botanical garden is an educational institution for botany students and it acts as a museum of living plant specimens. It provides living plant materials for practical exercise. It is a abode of many plant species but specially the native flora of the region. It is situated on the left side of the college and maintained by the botany department of the Government College, Kota.

It has nearly 90 live specimens including many medicinal plants like Centella, Cassia, Cissus and Giloy. Many climbers such as Asparagus, Bougainvillea, Clitoria, Cissus and Jasminum are conspicuous in botanical garden. Water lilly, Hydrilla, Ceratophyllum and other aquatic herbs are growing in garden tank.  Some Gymnosperms like Arucaria, Thuja, Zamia plant species adds the beauty of garden. In the Gymnosperm section, the most attractive plant species is the Cycas revoluta due to its evergreen large compound leaves.

Key note species such as Ficus benghalensis, Ficus religiosa are maintain the biodiversity of the garden. We can say that college is a learning institute and our botanical garden is the outdoor laboratory.
