Heritage Conservation - The Main Building and Clock Tower

The main building of the College was built in 1909 and the Clock Tower was established 1916, which was built by H.H. Shriman Maharao Ummeds Singh Ji of Kotah Riyasat. The city Kota has 2 Riyasat times Clock Towers and college houses the one of them where it’s functioning, and maintenance is of utmost importance.

Hence keeping an eye to its age; preservation and restoration of this building is essential. This requires careful and meticulous processes for appointing specialized conservation architects and contractors for these buildings; the institution is doing same as we put it into our Best Practices.

The college building is declared as heritage building by Archaeological Department (ASI) on 28 September 2020.

Hence the college keeps separate funds for the maintenance and upkeep of these buildings. However, as this is a large scale project, public private partnership initiatives would be welcome graciously.

Journey Towards a greener and eco-friendly campus

The college has rich greenery, there are about 250 big trees in the campus and some are as old as 100 years, this leads us to take the objective make a priority and thus our Best Practice!

The college took to the initiative to keep the surroundings clean through active participation by staff and students. “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” is not only as a means to clean environment but an overall purity of the Body, Mind and Soul for us here at this institution. It is profoundly noticed that this cleanliness drive has also promoted the practice of societal harmony among the stakeholders.

The “Green Audit” of the institute involves NSS student volunteers for tree plantation and look after. These trees were audited by putting name plates with their local as well as botanical names.

The large area of college campus demands continuous cleaning and monitoring. Its flora and fauna is so rich and dense that regular cleaning at every corner of the campus is a mammoth task and requires funding exclusively; so we substitute funding with volunteering – our stakeholders; contributing their full to achieve this goal.
