Government Polytechnic College Barmer, a organisation under the Department of Technical Education, Government of Rajasthan. It is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Board of Technical Education Rajasthan. It was established in 1988-89 by the central government under Border Area Development programme. Initially the institute was started with three branches viz. Electrical, Mechanical and Electronics Engg. From 2006 new branch of Petro chemical Engg. was started which was later on converted into chemical Engg. in 2009.
