About the Department: The Mechanical RAC department imparts knowledge of Refrigeration & Air Conditioning systems including designing, installation and servicing aspects.
The main USP of the department is emphasis on practical work and exposure to industry by field visits.

OBJECTIVES:
The Mechanical (RAC) Engineering program is designed to prepare students for successful careers in Refrigeration & Air conditioning manufacturing/ sales/ projects field, government, academia and MEP consultation organizations.
ACTIVITIES:
- Developed and maintained smart class room with the help of Alumni.
- Organized one get together of old passed outs of RAC branch Alumni in campus and felicitated them.
- One Classroom and one lab fully air-cooled during student’s project work.
- Industrial/field visits
- Expert lectures
- Major/ minor Projects.
SKILLS DEVELOPED/PROGRAM OUTCOME:
- Basic knowledge of various cooling/ heating systems.
- Ability to design Air Conditioning systems for various applications such as residential, commercial, hospitality, industrial etc.
- Ability to design Refrigeration systems for cold storage/ deep freezers/ ice plants etc.
- Ability to install Air conditioning / refrigeration system of different types such as unitary, splits ducted, VRV, central etc.
- Ability to service/ maintain Air conditioning / refrigeration system.
- Design & drawing of Air Distribution, water piping, fire fighting systems
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:
After getting Diploma of Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, students have following job opportunities:
- Establishing own set up for sales/installation/ servicing of RAC products.
- Join Air Conditioning/Refrigeration companies like Hitachi, Carrier, Daikin, Blue Star, Voltas etc.
- As a design engineer with MEP consultancy firms.
- Join public sector such as Metro Rail Corporation, Railway, and Roadways etc.
