Program Objectives :

1. To provide a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals or visual arts theory, including the history and theoretical frameworks that underpin artistic practice.

2. Equip students with the essential skills and techniques in art and design, fostering their ability to appreciate and analyse various art forms critically.

3. Cultivate creativity and individual expression, enabling students to identify their unique artistic voice and develop the formal language necessary for its expression.

4. Foster an appreciation for both historical precedent and contemporary context in art, allowing students to draw inspiration from diverse sources and traditions.

5. Provide practical studio courses in composition, painting, nature study, sketching, and cast studies to enhance technical proficiency and creative problem-solving abilities.

6. Encourage students to engage in the process of copying from old masters and exploring still life, facilitating a deeper understanding of artistic techniques and aesthetic principles.

7. Develop effective communication skills, including letter writing and verbal communication, to articulate artistic concepts and engage in professional discourse within the art industry.

8. Offer specialized courses in Indian knowledge systems or Anandam, broadening students' cultural and philosophical perspectives and enriching their artistic practice.

9.Prepare students for careers as educators or professionals in the art and design industry by providing them with a solid foundation in artistic theory, practical skills, and professional ethics.
