Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Government P G College NIMBAHERA (Raj) welcomes all the visitors. The College was established in 1977 with single - Arts discipline and therafter Commerce faculty was started from 1983-84.and P G course in M A Hindi Literature started from the year 2013. Presently the College offers 3 UG Programs B A, B Com, B Sc and 5 PG Programs M A (Hindi, History, Political Science, Sociology), M Com (ABST) and near about Two Thousand students are enrolled in these Programs/Courses. The college is affiliated to Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur (Raj.) and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2 (f) & 12 (b). NSS, Rovering, YDC and various types of Scholarship facilities are available here. The college is accredited with 'B' Grade by the NAAC in 2017. Brief History

Nimbahera: Nimbahera is situated in the southern part of Rajasthan, 30 km away from Chittorgarh Dist. Headquarters. It is situated between Mewar & Malwa region. Nimbahera is rich in minerals like limestone, Red Occur, China Clay, Laterite etc and this is the reason that it has become industrial hub of Cernent Industries. From agriculture point of view it is the area of black soil resulting into production of Cash Crop like Opium, ground nut, Cotton etc. Gunjali, Nimboda, Gambhiri, Kadmali are the Rivers flowing in the region. Chotisadari, Barisadri, Binota, Kanera, Badi, Ranikhera, Arnoda, Nikumbh, Badoli, Keli & Gadola are the villages situated near Nimbahera.

Nimbahera has very strong history. Prehistoric remais can be seen near the River Gambhiri. Later on this region was a union of Madras & Sohan civilization. In the early decade of Nineteen century Nimbahera region went in to hands of Nawab of Tonk a princely state except for a few years during the revolt of 1857. It remained under the same rule up to Independence.

The College: Government College, Nimbahera was established in the year 1977 by the state government in the Industrial town Nimbahera of Chittorgarh Distt. From the year 1977 to 1982 it was run in the Senior Sec. School Building & then it was shifted in the Session 1982-83 to its own newly constructed building. Initially there was Arts faculty. Commerce faculty was started from the session 1983-84. Post Graduation course (Hindi Literature) has been started from the session 2013-14. The college is affiliated to Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur (Raj.). The college is registered under UGC Act section 2 (f) & 12 (b). The college is accredited by the NAAC with B grade.

The name of the College has been changed by the Rajasthan State Govt. from Government College, Nimbahera to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Government College, Nimbahera in the year 2003 and promotted as Post Graduation level in the year 2013-14. Now the name of the college is "Dr. BHIMRAO AMBEDKAR GOVERNMENT P. G. COLLEGE, NIMBAHERA (DIST. CHITTORGARH) - RAJASTHAN".

Introduction

Government College, NIMBAHERA is an institute of Govt. of Rajasthan and is working under Department of College Education, Rajasthan. The College was established in the year 1977 and is affiliated to Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur (Raj.). It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(b), and receives grants from time to time under various schemes. The college is located at Chittor Road, Nimbahera town, of Chittorgarh district (Raj.). The College is second largest college of the district Chittorgarh with more than eighteen hundred regular students and provides examination centre to more than two thousand private students every year and most of them (almost 60%) are female students as well as it has 30 acres of land. It is situated in South part of the State Rajasthan and hundred kilometers far from Udaipur and Dabok airport.

The College has own Central Library with sufficient and latest books, an auditorium/seminar hall, Canteen hall and large playground. Hundreds of students pass out every year from the College and move ahead to higher education, training courses etc. as well as many of the students, passed out from here, are serving in various fields in the country. Though, the teaching and non-teaching staff is very least in number in respect of sanctioned posts as well as in the ratio of students and requirement, all the activities – curricular and co-curricular activities, organizing and completing well managed. Two NSS units, YDC, Women Cell, Students Union, Planning Forum and other committees are working actively throughout the year and organize various types of activities for overall development of the students as well as paying social responsibilities. IQAC suggests for improvement of the quality in all respects and CDC recommends and executes the plans for betterment of the College.
