  1. The college was established in 1975 for providing higher education to the students specially who were socially and economically deprived. The foundation of this college was laid by the Birla Group. This college was taken over by the state government in 1991.The college is permanently affiliated to University of Kota, Kota.
  2. The Government Birla College is the only government college in Bhawani Mandi. This college is spread over 46 bighas of area. It is in a pollution-free area, which is 5 kilometers from the original town. Due to co-education in this college, both boys and girls come to study from far away villages. This college is surrounded by greenery. Piplya dam is built behind this college. This dam and greenery further enhance the beauty of the college.
  3. Despite being in the backward area, PG classes are also running in it. Currently PG classes are in Hindi, ABST and chemistry. Presently near about 1700 students are studying in this college.
  4. Accreditation of the college took place in 2005 in which the college achieved C++ grade.The institute is included in the list of colleges under section 2(f) and 12 (b) of the UGC Act 1956 and has been a beneficiary of RUSA grants.
