 NATURE FRIENDS' - SAVE NATURE 

'SAY NO TO PLASTIC'

Objective of the Practice –

The context- Plastic is a non- biodegradable as well as harmful material. Plastic materials on the land are a thread to plants and animals as well as humans. The factual and conceptual information on plastic is in dispensable for people. Following contextual features or challenging issues were before us in designing and implementing the practice. With the increasing use of plastic the environment is becoming polluted at the rate seen never before. Therefore, It has become the need of the hour to ‘say no to plastic’. The nature friends’ group of the college has started the campaign on 6 June 2023.

The practice - To avoid plastic in daily use firstly the nature friends’ made awareness among the people about its role in environmental pollution and how it has adverse effect on the human and animal health. Nature friends’ endeavor sensitization programs every month of students, staff, society and stakeholders regarding enactment and publicizing this practice for minimizing use of plastic in day to day life through various means that includes mouth- to - mouth canvassing and awakening through posters. The nature friends’ address layman, shopkeepers, kids and passes by regarding minimizing the use of plastic in their everyday life. Direct interaction were held with the public at various market places and public places such as Public Park, Stadium, Sabji Mandi etc. with an intention of exercising the social responsibility of college for awareness towards beautiful and protection of nature.

Evidence of success - Students staff, the shopkeepers, the public started to use alternate to plastic bags and other plastic material in the public places. Many public places become a plastic free area.

The problem encountered and resources required -sometimes some resistance to this practice was raised by few shopkeepers who were initially habitual of plastic use but after sometime they understand the long term positive effect of the practice.

 No funding agency is supporting financially in sustaining the practice. The problem required sometimes to convince the people of the society about not to use plastic in daily life.

Objective of the Practice – The aim of this best practice book is to develop and balance your personality through enlightenment.

The context- The habit of reading book other than syllabus helps in –

 • Gain valuable knowledge

• Improve ability to empathize

• Improve emotional intelligence

 • Boost imagination

• Develop a stronger memory

The practice- All regular students of the college have to read one book per month, in this way a student studies 12 Books in 12 months. This is in addition to the course Book and after reading that book student gives it to next student.

Evidence of success – The students of the college develop  crucial life skills that will prepare them for a bright and successful future. After reading such books students gain new ideas and ways of thinking, reduce stress and improve mental health. The students become more creative.

The problem encountered and resources required - Two problems encountered during this best practice are 1.Lack of various types of books among students. 2. Not having the habit of reading regularly
