HISTORY

The Government College, Bibirani,  began its humble journey as college of Arts with six subjects like Hindi Literature, English Literature, Sanskrit Literature, Political Science, History, Economics and Geography and 08 sections comprising 640 students every year enrolled in B.A. Part I (Pass Course) Programme, semester scheme has started in under graduate part I class from the current session (2023). Ever expanding and reaching in remote corner of rural region as well as growing awareness about the importance and utility of higher education among local people prompted them to demand for Post Graduation Facility in the College. Under mounting public pressure, the government upgraded the college as centre of Post Graduation learning in Geography in 2009. Later on, the realization of  the need and importance of  Science and Commerce Education in modern time was the key factor which motivated the leadership and local people together to work towards that direction which finally yielded result when in 2013, the government added 02 sections having 160 students in Science (B.Sc. Biology and Maths) and 01 section with 80 students in Commerce (B.Com) Streams to fulfill the requirement of students.
