Bundi is Known for its cultural heritage as Chhoti Kashi, the picture of the town Bundi is posited on the Jaipur-Jabalpur National Highway at a distance of about 37 Kilometers from Kota. Keeping in mind the educational needs of this region an educational institution by the name of Hadendra College was setup in 1945 which catered to the students of the arts Faculty. Later in 1951 science and commerce sections were also introduced. Up to this time the education being imparted here was upto the intermediate level but in 1959 the college got recognition as an institute for graduate level studies. In 1964, the college shifted to its present premises. The campus is green and spread in about 25 acres. The institution got its recognition from the UGC in July, 1965. A non-resident Student Centre was built in 1975 and in 1977 the College Library building was constructed.

A new building for the Students Hostel was built in the same year and incidentally it was 1977 itself that the college was raised to Post Graduate Level. In 1979 Law classes were also started. Thus, after a long journey of seven decades, the institution has evolved into the best and is the only Post Graduate College of the entire Bundi district. It now caters to the educational needs of not only the students of Bundi district but also to nearby districts such as Tonk, Bhilwara, Kota and Sawai Madhopur.  

Today it has spread itself out to include Post Graduate studies in Accounts and Business Statistics, Economic Administration and Financial Management, Mathematics, Chemistry, Botany, Hindi, Sanskrit, English, History, Political Science, Economics, Music, Drawing & Painting as well as Geography. In 2007 college started some carrier oriented courses like PGDCA, BBA (SFS), Diploma in Travel & Tourism Management. In 1995-96, a study centre for Vardhman Mahaveer Open University, Kota was opened here. In 2015-16, a study center of IGNOU has been established and offored many degree, certificate and diploma programmes for the students. The college boasts of sprawling play grounds, administrative and official wings, recreatin room, seminar hall, eclass room, smart class, computer lab and Language lab with high speed internet connection, Abhinav art gallary, girls common Room, botanical garden, a hostel besides a fully equipped computerized library housing more than 80, 000 rare books on various subjects. The college was accredited B+ Grade in 2004 and B Grade in 2016 by the NAAC. Skilled administration and an intellectual teaching staff apart the hard work and efficiency of the Ministerial Staff and the helpers have all contributed to the position of the college as an educational institute of considerable repute for students of not only this region but also for those from the other states of the country.
