Government Commerce College, Alwar (Rajasthan) was established on December 10,2014. Before bifurcation in 2014, it was part as PG Department of Commerce of the Raj Rishi College (RRC), Alwar which was established in 1930 by the then Ruler of Alwar 'Raj Rishi Maharaja Jay Singh'. The RRC was upgraded to a graduate college having the faculties in Arts and Commerce in 1945. Government Commerce College is the biggest college in Alwar district for commerce and management studies. Government of Rajasthan has allowed our college to start Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the session 2024-25. It is affiliated to the RRBMU, Alwar. This college is committed to work vigorously for the all-round personality development of students by making them not just outstanding professionals but also good individuals with ingrained human values. The college campus is situated in the hills of Aravali in Ganesh Nagar, Budh Vihar Extension, Southern part of the Alwar city. The college has consistently demonstrated outstanding performance in field of sports and extracurricular activities. It has adequate infrastructure that caters to the needs of its students. Institute provides various facilities to the students like WIFI, Library, Reading Room, NSS, Ranger and Rover etc.

Alwar is also known as Gateway of Rajasthan, is located at 27.57°N 76.6°E. It has an average elevation of 271 m (889 ft). The Ruparel River is a major river near the city. Alwar is fairly rich in mineral wealth; it produces marble, granite, feldspar, dolomite, quartz, limestone, soap stone, barites, copper clay, copper ore and pyrophyllite.

At the time of the 2011 census, the population of Alwar city and Alwar district were 341,422 and 3,674,179 respectively.
