The Library of Government Commerce College, Alwar stands as a cornerstone of academic and intellectual activity within the campus. It plays a pivotal role in supporting the teaching-learning process and academic excellence by providing a wide range of high-quality resources and a conducive environment for study and research.
The library boasts a rich and diverse collection of 7,624 reference books, covering key areas such as:Commerce and Management, Business Administration, Economics and Finance,Accountancy and Taxation,Law, Humanities, and Social Sciences.It caters the needs of the around 1500 students at undergraduate, postgraduate level and Research.
Periodicals and Subscriptions:
To ensure up-to-date knowledge and awareness, the library subscribes to:
► 3 reputed research journals for academic and scholarly engagement
► 5 leading magazines spanning business, economy, general knowledge, and youth interest
► 8 newspapers (in both English and Hindi) to keep students informed on current affairs, government policies, economic trends, and more
To become a member, students should fill and submit a prescribed membership form to the library.
Book Bank:
The Book Bank in the library of Government Commerce College, Alwar, has been established through generous donations with the aim of assisting students in their academic pursuits. This facility provides a set of textbooks and reference materials to students, particularly those from economically weaker sections.
The initiative helps reduce the financial burden on students and promotes equal access to learning resources. The donated book bank is a valuable addition to the college library’s services, reflecting a spirit of educational philanthropy and commitment to inclusive learning.
ONOS: Boosting Research and Learning at the College Library
The College Library is proud to implement the One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) initiative, providing students, faculty, and researchers with access to a vast repository of international scholarly resources.
Membership :
All bonafide students of GCC, teaching, non-teaching staff members have right to access the College Library. To become a member of library, bonafide students should fill a form available with the Library Office. The registered members are issued Library Card corresponding to their entitlement.
Membership Rules :
1. The bonafide students and staff members have right to access the library and use it for reading and studying during working hours and days.
2. The membership of the library can be obtained by the bonafide student and staff members of GCC by filling a prescribed form with the College Library Office for issuing books, journals, magazines, etc. and availing different facilities of the library. A membership card is issued by the Library Office. The member should produce the membership card while getting books, etc. issued in her/her name or availing different facilities.
3. The membership is valid for designated period. The students at the beginning of second and fourth semester should renew their membership card on production of fees deposit slip. The member can also discontinue their membership by surrendering their membership cards.
4. Students and Staff member when leaving GCC permanently must deposit the cards with the Library Office and get their account cleared.
