HISTORY

Government College, Chauth ka Barwara (Sawai Madhopur) established in May 2022 in a town named Chauth ka Barwara in the sawai madhopur district in Rajasthan, India. It is located in the southeast of northern Indian state of Rajasthan. It is located around  kilometres west of the sawai madhopur district headquater. It is a co-educational, Under-graduate (UG- Arts) institution supported by faculty strength of 7 teachers. This college is affiliated to University of Kota.

This city comes under the Tonk-Sawai Madhopur Lok Sabha constituency of Rajasthan and the Vidhansabha constituency of this city seems to be Khandar . The Chauth Mata temple here is famous all over Rajasthan ! Chauth's Barwada city is Meena and Gurjar dominated area situated in the lap of Aravalli mountain range! This small town, known as Barwada, became famous as Chauth Ka Barwada in the name of Chauth Mata in Samvat 1451, which remains till the present. Apart from the Chauth Mata temple, there is also a grand temple of Lord Shri Devnarayan ji and Meen Bhagwan, the deity of Gurjars in this city.

The entire history of Chauth Ka Barwada revolves around Chauth Mata Shakti Peeth, this village has a grand temple of Chauth Bhavani situated at a height of 1100 ft above Aravali Shakti Giri mountain range, this temple was established by Maharaja Bhimsingh Chauhan in Samvat In 1451, on the mountain of Barwada. Present Chauth's Barwada was known as "Barwada" in ancient times, which has been a part of Ranthambore kingdom, Bijalsingh and Bhimsingh Chauhan have been prominent among the major rulers of this region.
