The State government has initiated a scheme of setting up Youth Development Centres in all government colleges. The basic objective of these centres is to inculcate employable skills in colleges students. 

 YDC take up the following additional activities as per the availability of resources and expertise in the colleges:

Skill testing

Aptitude testing

Personality tests

Making employment related newspapers available

Organizing campus interviews

Special placement drives/fairs

Organizing competitions for students

Organizing skill upgradation courses

Personality improvement classes

Setting up help desk at the time of admissions in college

Brainstorming session

Organizing seminars

Group counseling

Meeting with successful alumni
