Introduction
Dholpur is the easternmost district of Rajasthan, situated near the Chambal River in the middle of two big cities Agra and Gwalior. It is the only Govt. college in Dholpur district where postgraduate courses are offered. The college has been making endeavors to bring about excellence in educational and co-curricular activities under the guidance and directions of the experienced Principal, Vice-principal and well qualified faculty members. To draw the students to pursue higher studies through distance education, centers of IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) and VMOU (Vardhman Mahaveer Open University, Kota) have been opened in which U.G. & P.G. courses in various subjects are being offered. The college has about 53 sanctioned posts of lecturers in various subjects to fulfill the requirements. Most of the faculty members have doctorates in their respective subjects. For the enhancement of extracurricular activities, there is a physical education teacher who trains the students in various indoor and outdoor games. To motivate The students to participate in social services, the college has well-organized NSS, NCC, and Rovers Scout beings which are doing great jobs to develop the notion of social services among students. The students are also being prepared to participate in games and athletic competitions at the State and National levels. At present, there are more than 2500 students enrolled in various UG and PG courses in the college. The college is making all possible efforts to take the curricular and co-curricular activities to a new height. To fulfill its commitment a well-furnished staff room, ventilated and well-maintained classrooms, clean and cold drinking water for staff and students, girls’ common room with all basic facilities. To organize seminars and conferences college has two auditoriums namely Leela Tripathi Auditorium and Vivekanand Auditorium. The construction of a library with all modern facilities is in progress. At present, a well-stocked library is functioning in the old building in which more than fifty thousand books and many magazines and Journals are available for the benefit of the students. To keep the students well informed of recent research and development, the college is connected to INFLIBNET. In compliance with the directions from the State Government and Lingdoh committee, the student’s union election is being held every year. To keep an eye on various progressive works in the college, a well-organized IQAC cell has been established in the college.
