About College Government college karauli (GCK) is a post graduate college in the district of karauli. It is situated in the bank of the river Barkhera and Bhadrawati. Adjoining ravines and lush green forest is another speciality making the scenery attractive. Although it is located at district headquarter (since July 19, 1997), yet it is backward remote and tribal dense area. The college was established in 1960 with arts faculty only. Science and commerce faculties took place in 1962 and 1970 respectively. The college provides teaching facilities in 17 subjects with four postgraduate departments, namely, Political science (since 1977-78), History (since 1982-83) , Botany (since 1989-90) and Geography (since 2017-18). GCK was initially remained affiliated to the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur from 1960 to 1985-86. Later on, it came under the purview of MDS University, Ajmer from 1986-87 to 2001-02. Now it is under affiliation of the University of Kota, Kota since 2002-03. GCK has an enlightened, creative and rich faculty, prosperous library, well-equipped laboratories and well settled infrastructure to attract more and more students to caste their future. |
In 2005, NAAC awarded B+ grade to the college and Government of Rajasthan declared it as a ‘centre of excellence’ (model college). Now in 2015 NAAC has awarded C grade to this.
