ICT LAB

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) labs were established in government colleges under Rashtriya Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) colleges’ scheme. It provides an opportunity for all college students to develop ICT skills and learn through computer aided learning process. So it is a major catalyst to bridge the digital divide amongst students of various socioeconomic and other geographical barriers.

ICT lab in the SBRM government College Nagaur was established during the session 2016-17. The laboratory is equipped with 9 computers and one laptop available with 12 Mbps speed via BSNL Fiber optic connection. In addition to it free open wi-fi access in the ICT room and nearby areas (Chemistry Lab, Library, Geography lab , Sports Room etc.) is made available through a router. It also has two all-in-one printers. The access of the computer resources of the room is available to the students. The students' entry register is maintained in the room to keep a track of the number of beneficiaries. It enables the students to access the internet in their own devices as well. The room is equipped with inverter with double battery system so as to provide uninterrupted power supply to all the systems and to make the open wifi access available to the students throughout the college working hours. The students are informed and taught about various e- resources available on internet. The list of useful e-resources for the students has been pasted on the wall of the room. Specific focus is on Gyandoot YouTube channel of the Commissioner College Education office, where syallabus related videos made by all the government college teachers are available. Besides, YouTube channel of SBRM P.G Govt. College Nagaur is also made accessible to the students where all the videos made by the college faculties are available. In this room, students prepare their projects, assignments etc. with the guidance of the teachers. Important utility tools like Microsoft word, excel, pdf, ppt, etc. are also taught and demonstrated to the students. Nagaur is a semi urban area therefore such basic information about computers for the students is a much needed support to them.

Besides, the students also use computer resources of ICT for the resolution of their various scholarship related issues. In the case of scholarships provided by the Social Welfare Department of Rajasthan Govt., the facility of biometric attendance is extended to the college students. In CM scholarship, the students from many govt. and private colleges of the entire Nagaur district come for resolving their multiple issues like removal of objection, nonpayment of scholarship, updating of new account numbers etc.

This facility is totally dedicated to the academic and welfare requirements of the students.

In addition to the above, faculty members also use this facility for their academic upliftment and enhancing their research skills.
