  "Operation ROHIDA "

Flagship Achievement for the college

For the protection of Rohida, known as Teak of Rajasthan, the NCC unit of Government Mirdha College, Nagaur started Operation Rohida about two years ago and till now four thousand saplings have been planted under this campaign. Now the state government has announced to take this campaign forward. Rohida saplings will also be planted in various wildlife protected areas of the state including Jhalana Protected Area of ​​Jaipur. Dr. Premsingh Bugasar, NCC officer of Mirdha College, the architect of this campaign, says that Rohida trees protect biodiversity. It has the ability to thrive even when there is less water. That's why it is perfectly suited to the climate of Rajasthan. Due to the status of the state flower of Rohida flower, it seems connected to our roots. Due to the abundance of medicinal properties, its importance increases further. Due to giving timber, it is known as Marwar's teak. Due to which NCC has started Operation Rohida for the protection of Rohida.

AIM OF NCC

The ‘Aims’ of the NCC laid out in 1988 have stood the test of time and continue to meet the requirements expected of it in the current socio–economic scenario of the country. The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.

 

National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy, and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges, and Universities all over the India.

  • The Cadets are given basic military training insmall arms and parades. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service, once they complete their course, but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps.
  • SW (Senior wing for girls NCC Cadets) established in 2014 with 60 vacancies for girls cadet.
   
 
Some important information pertaining organizational aspects and activities performed by NCC are described below:-
  1. Strength: There are Two Units 160 Cadets in 6 Raj and 60 Cadets in 3 Raj for Girls our NCC Company. This strength of cadets is directly under the command and control of Company Commander (ANO) and Commanding Officer, 6 Raj BN NCC, Jodhpur. This Coy also have 60 open vacancies under the command and control of Commanding officer 3 Raj Girls BN NCC, Jodhpur.
  2. Tenure of NCC: From session 2013-14 the total tenure of NCC have been extended up to three years. During this three years period ‘B’ and‘C’ certificate examinations are organized in addition to regular parades andorganizing camps.
  3. Regular Parades Schedule: Regular parades are fixed on every Monday  and Tuesday from 8.00 AM to 10.00 AM. Each parade comprises of 2 period of 60 minutes.The regular parades are held on working days in college only. Every year 40parades are organized out of which 30 parades are compulsory to attend for each cadet.
  4. Organization of Camps: There are different kinds of camps which are organized by Battalion, Group, State, and DG NCC level. In every camp certain seats are allotted to particular institution. It is essential for every cadet to attend one camp for each certificate, thus two camps during three years period are mandatory to pass both ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate examination.
  5. Celebration of National Festivals: Independence Day (15 August), Republic Day (26 January) andNCC Day (04 Sunday of November) are celebrated in college campus with great fun fare.The cadets are also take part in common parade organized at district level in Nagaur Stadium.
  6. B and C Certificate Exam: ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate examination are held in every year in month of February and March.

 

  1. Theory Classes: Theory classes are organized during regular parades takenby ANO and regular PI staff of Army personnel.
  2. Lectures on different issues: Lectures are also organized on current and burning issues to acquaint the cadets with changing scenario of the State andNation. These issues include motivation, Leadership, time management, environment protection, wild life conservation, female feoticide, national integration, AIDS awareness programs, problem of Naxlites, impact of IT, soft skills etc.

Employment opportunities for NCC Cadets:

B and C Certificates are very useful as far as employment opportunities are concerned. Cadets who secured A and B grade in ‘C’ Certificate are exempted from written examination which is conducted by UPSC for CDS. A definite quota is fixedfor NCC C certificate holders. Addtionally, the Cadets are given bonus marks in admission at degree and PG level.They are also given preference in state police services and paramilitary services. Some of corporate houses are giving priority to NCC Cadets in security services and other jobs .
