To provide higher education to the surrounding rural areas, Rajasthan State Government in 1970 decided to set up an educational institution in Nasirabad. The classes in Arts and Commerce faculties were started in Shri Ram Dharamshala at Gandhi Chowk in the centre of the city. Later on Shri Bharo Singh Shekhawat and Shri Govind Singh Gurjar surveyed and found 125 bighas land in military area near Nandla village suitable for college building and the foundation stone was laid in the same year.
