Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India has established ‘MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are informative years.

MIC has envisioned encouraging creation of ‘Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs)’ across selected HEIs. A network of these IICs will be established to promote innovation in the Institution through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation promotion eco-system in the campuses.

Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India for the establishment of ‘MoE’s Innovation Cell
(MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of innovation amongst all Higher Education
Institutions (HEIs) with the mandate to encourage the creative energy of our student
population to work on new ideas and innovation and promote them to create start- ups and
entrepreneurial ventures. MIC has established more than 9224 Institution’s Innovation
Council (IIC) at HEIs. Primarily, IICs’ role is to engage large number of faculty, students and
staff in various innovation and entrepreneurship related activities such as Ideation, Problem
solving, Proof of Concept development (PoC), Design Thinking, IPR, project handling and
management at Pre- incubation/ Incubation stage, etc., so that innovation and
entrepreneurship ecosystem gets established and stabilized in HEI.
Institution’s Innovation Councils (IICs) established in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs)
is playing an instrumental role in the whole process innovation repository creation at each
institute level by identifying, scouting ideas, innovations and start-ups from students, alumni/
recent graduates, faculty members, staff, entrepreneurs incubated at the institute. Moreover,
IIC institutions are keeping scouting innovations and startups throughout the year for
building the repository, verification of received submissions on regular basis and taking
needful actions to provide handholding supports such as mentoring, grant assistance,
nominate for national innovation challenges, referral & linkage with incubation units,
accelerators and connect with Angel/ VC networks, facilitating technology transfer etc.
towards sustainable generation and production of innovations and startups from HEIs.

Govt. Shakambhar P.G. College, Sambhar Lake (Jaipur) has established Institutional
Innovation Council (IIC) as per the norms of Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India
(IIC Calendar year, 2020- 21) to foster the culture of innovation ecosystem among students
and faculties. Since form the establishment of IIC, institute has been working hard and
conducted various activities like Seminars, webinars, boot camps, ideation competitions, field
visits, expert talks with industrialists, investors, entrepreneurs, academicians, orientation
sessions and other various were organized related to innovation, entrepreneurship, start- ups
as well as intellectual property rights at institutional premises to create awareness and equip
the students as well as faculty members with all fundamental knowledge and skills to enhance
institutional innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem. In addition to this, institute also
registered for MIC driven Mentor Mantee scheme, Innovation Ambassador training
programme, Yukti Innovation Challenge for better implementation of IIC.
It is a matter of great concern that, institute was selected as a governing member of IIC at the
state level institute and was awarded with 2, 3.5 & 2.5 star rating for the session 2020-21,
2021- 22 & 2022- 23, respectively by the MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC) among stand- alone
institute category across the nation.
Innovation Ambassadors Training Program
MIC started Innovation Ambassador Program with an aim to train the faculties and
students in four highly sought- after themes viz. Design Thinking; IPR & Technology
Transfer; Pre- Incubation & Incubation Management; and Entrepreneurship Development.

The beneficiaries of these training programs will join the network of "IIC- Innovation
Ambassador" and perform the role of mentor in their respective IICs and nearby
Institutions, which will provide support to other IICs as resource person in organising
various programs related to Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Start-up and spread
the message of innovation & start-up among the students and faculties.
Innovation Ambassador Training Program was completed by two faculty members
and one faculty member completed Basic level in addition to advance level.
Mentor- Mentee Programme for IIC Institutions
The objective of the Mentor- Mentee scheme for IIC institutions is to engage high-
performing IIC institutions, especially those that have secured a star rating of 3.5 and
above during the previous IIC calendar year, to act as mentors for IIC institutions in
need of guidance and support. This twinning program aims to facilitate knowledge
exchange and resource mobilization between institutions through inter- institutional
collaborations. The scheme is designed to pair one mentor IIC institute with up to
five mentee IIC institutes. Govt. Shakambhar P.G. College, Sambhar Lake was
nominated as Mantee in association with mentor institute J.K. Lakshmipat University,
Jaipur for the session 2022- 23 and conducted various online and offline activities in
collaboration.
National Innovation Repository (NIR):
IIC Institutions will Create and Maintain a Repository of Innovations by Identifying, Scouting
and Evaluating Innovations and Start-ups Developed by Faculty Members, Students, Alumni and
Incubated Start-ups on Regular Basis.
YUKTI - National Innovation Repository
YUKTI – National Innovation Repository (NIR) is an initiative of the Ministry of Education
(MoE) Government of India and it is implemented by MoE’s Innovation Cell and AICTE to
build a system of repository of ideas, innovations and startups developed in academic
institutions and enabling institutions to systematically foster the I&E culture by managing
and nurturing these innovations by offering continuous support in terms of one-to-one
mentorship, grant assistance, referral and linkage with incubation units, connecting with
Angel/Venture Capital (VC) investors network, knowledge agencies, etc.
YUKTI - National Innovation Challenge
Institute registered and participated in Yukti National Innovation Challenge and submitted
four innovative ideas of the regular students after evaluation by Innovation ambassadors from
the institute on the national Yukti portal for the session 2022- 23.
