LABORATORIES

The classes for arts and science students are conducted in the south campus of the college. This campus have well established laboratories for every science subject-Chemistry, Zoology, Botany and Physics. There is a Geography lab also for the students of geography subject.

Department of Botany

The Department of Botany has been started in 1981. The faculty members are recruited by robust and transparent systems of Rajasthan Public Service commission and are well qualified, who besides teaching, have also been pursuing research. The major areas of their current research interests include Phycology, Mycology, floristic diversity, biotechnology, and many applied aspects of plant sciences. The teachers have published many research papers in journals of national and international repute. They have, in addition, authored/edited a number of books. The faculty members of the Department have conducted research projects sponsored by UGC. This has led to better infrastructure and facilities for the students. The non teaching staff is helpful and cooperative.

Department of Zoology

Department of Zoology, Government College, Sawaimadhopur, was established in the year 1981.

Since its inception, the department has strived to instill a sense of gratitude, appreciation and awareness for nature and the environment among its students. Being one of the pioneer science departments in the region, faculty members have put in a lot of effort towards imparting the latest knowledge in the field to their pupils.

For a better understanding of the subject, practicals are conducted on a regular basis. Laboratory is equipped with all the basic instruments, models and charts along with advanced Light microscopes and other facilities. It also has white and Green boards which further act as teaching aids. Exposure to animal life and diversity is done through specimens. We also organize field trips to National parks and Sanctuaries for giving our students a first-hand exposure to wildlife and become appreciative of nature.

For ensuring academic excellence we provide notes and photocopies of the best reference books on different topics. Faculty members have also prepared videos and uploaded them on social platforms. Students securing university merit is a testimony to the hard work put in by the faculty members.

Faculty members also try to keep pace with developments in the field. For doing so, they have been active in organization and participation of National and International Seminars and Conferences. They also have some really good publications in reputed journals to their credit.
