Government Colleges was established in the year 1968 as two separate units with the title Gyaniram Harakchand Sarawagi Arts and Commerce College and as Seth Moti Lal Bengani Science College,Ladnu. At the initial stage, arts and commerce classes were started with 66 students in Bhanwar Lal Kala Bal Mandir, Sujangarh. Later on, it was transferred in Raja ji ki kothi on 1.7.1969
On 28th January1974, the present building was constructed by Seth Gyaniram Harakchand Sarawagi trust and the college was shifted in it. With the herculean efforts of then MLA Shri Phool Chand Jain and the honorable citizens of Sujangarh, then Chief Minister shri Mohan Lal Sukhadia laid foundation of the present building.
Similarly, the Science College started in Johri Higher Secondary School, Ladnu in the year 1968-69 and later on shifted in the building just opposite to the present Arts/Commerce College.
For almost one and a half decade, both Colleges were run separately and later on by the Government Notification, they were merged in a single College on 1. 1.1982
Presently, G H S Government P G College of Sujangarh is a co-educational College which is an integrated unit of both of these Colleges and called as “Sujla Mahavidhyalaya” by the local people.
The College is located on NH 65 at a distance of 6 Km. from Sujangarh and 9 Km. from Ladnu, just opposite to Jaswantgarh railway station.
Presently, UG courses are running in Science, Arts and Commerce and PG courses are running in Chemistry, Maths, Hindi Literature, Political Science, ABST, EAFM and Buss.Mngmt.
