(A State Govt. Girls PG College)

Rameshwari Devi Government Girls  College is located in the semi-urban area of Bharatpur city. The College is affiliated to the Maharaja Surajmal Brij University, Bharatpur. Its academic calendar is in consonance with the University calendar. Recognized by the UGC under 2 (f) and 12 (B) in March 1985, . The College offers diverse programs through 20 departments belonging to three faculties viz, Arts, Science and Commerce. This college was designated as CPE ( College With Potential for Excellence) College in 2011 & is a RUSA beneficiary.

Recently it has been identified as DLQAC (Divisional Level Quality Assurance Cell) Convenor to monitor the quality assurance cell of all colleges of this division

Strength; Weaknesses; Opportunities & Challenges

Strength

  • Well qualified faculty.
  • Despite many challenges, the girls are doing fairly well in Games & Sports. (Archery & Softball at International level)
  • Diversity of students from all sections of society.
  • Enriching cultural pursuits.
  • State-level awards in extension activities to the NSS Officers.

Weaknesses

  • Teacher-student ratio, 50% of posts are falling vacant.
  • The building area is not sufficient.
  • Scarcity of playgrounds.
  • Unavailability of girl’s hostel.

Opportunities

  • Many programs pertaining to skill development are run.
  • Safe and conducive atmosphere for all-around development.

Challenges

  • In spite of the meager teacher-student ratio, the examination results are fairly high due to committed faculties.
  • The location of the college building falls within the preview limits of the Archaeological Survey of India, restricting infrastructural development.
