INTRODUCTION

District Dholpur is situated in the eastern part of Rajasthan. It lies between Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, and is known for the mixed culture of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.  The present name was previously pronounced as Dhaulpur.  Previously it was a part of Bharatpur district. It was made a separate district only in 1982 , and it comprises of six tehsils,  namely,  Dholpur, Rajakhera, Bari, Baseri, Saipau and Saramathura. It is incredibly rich in its cultural heritage, and is famous for Muchhkund, the Chambal, Wild Life Century and Damoh waterfall.
Govt. Girls’ College Dholpur  is the only girls’ college to pursue higher education in Dholpur district.  It was founded in 2014 . At the beginning, only the graduation courses  are available for the students.
