Post-Matric Scholarship


The post matric scholarship is a Central sponsored scheme in operation since 1944 to  provide financial assistance to the minority community to pursue post matric education. This is one of the oldest schemes. This scholarship give opportunity to SC ,ST and OBC student would be implemented. This scheme was launched in November 2007 and the Central Scheme with 100% funding. This scheme for minority communities provided scholarships to students from 11th to PH.D. studying in government institutes and recognised private institutes, colleges, university ,technical ,vocational,  industrial training centre and institutions. This scheme is not available for LLB, MBA ,MCA, BE and MBBS
 

Objectives
1. The objective of the scheme is to significantly increase the gross enrollment ratio of minority candidates in higher education, with a focus on those from the poorest households, by providing financial assistance and post-matriculation or post-secondary education to enable them to complete their education.
2. The scholarship are available to study in India only and the award are selected by the state government or union territory to which the applicant actually belongs, permanently settled or domiciled, as per the term of domicile decided by the state
3. This is applicable to all students who are currently beneficiaries of the scheme as well as fresh admissions.
(Income celling)

 

The Scholarship is paid to the student whose parents/guardians income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2,50,000 per annum w.e.f. the current academic session.
 

The Value of scholarship
The value of scholarship includes the following for the complete duration of the course:
1. Maintenance allowances
2. Remember ment of compulsory, non refundable fees
3. Study tour charges
4. Thesis typing and printing charges for research scholars.
5. Book bank facility for specified courses, and
6. Additional allowances for students with disabilities for the complete duration of the course.

 

Eligibility for a Scholarship:
1. Student should be an Indian national belonging to SC ST community and studying in post matric classes.
2. Parents public guardians income should not exceed rupees 2.5lakh per annum.
3. The student should be studying in one of the 10 categories of institutions specified  
4. Students pursuing their studies through correspondence courses are also eligible for the term correspondence, including distance and continuing education, for courses in the central /State University.
