INTRODUCTION

Government College Hod(Sikar) was established in 2013  in a remote and rural area largely inhibited by backward classes, with a mission and vision to empower rural women by providing higher education. Hod is a small village situated at juncture of three small towns Khandela, Kanwat and Sri Madhopur. Girls could not pursue higher education due to lack of government institutions .Private institutions used to charge heavy fee which poor families could not afford. Hod as the name suggests was developed as an oasis, a water reservoir to cater drinking water problems of people of the area but it lacked in growing demands of education for girls.

The Institution is established with a vision that “Education is one of the most important means of empowering women with the knowledge, skills and self-confidence necessary to participate
fully in the development process."

The Vision and Mission of founding architects of the Institution is to provide quality higher education to women that culminate in the total formation of the individual. The college encourages a holistic approach to education that not only ensures academic excellence but also equips young women to face the challenges in life by fostering values, imbibing emotional maturity, creating civic responsibility and building global competencies in a dynamic environment.

The Institution has a mission to provide higher education to young women strongly founded on Indian culture, values and tradition. The primary goal of the institution is to mould young women to become leaders in various spheres of society beginning with the family.

 

Shri Shri 1008 Baba Vishambhar Das Educational Institution Dulhepura inspired by social services rendered by people of area, gracefully donated 4.80 acres of land and 14 constructed class rooms to government of Rajasthan to run institution of higher education for girls. The Institution has received Rs.2, 20,000/-from MP LED Plan in 2013.The Institution is indebted to Shri Mahadeo Singh Ex. State Minister, Government of India for his personal help of Rs.11, 75,000/- to provide basic amenities to students.    

The college has been started in session 2013-2014 with 52 girls enrolled in BA First Year. The institution is a degree college, provides Bachelor Degree in Arts with English, Hindi, Political Science, Economics, Geography, Sociology and Sanskrit subjects. The Institution is endowed with faculty members with high academic records. The institution has rich library, computer lab and geography lab. The institution has been provided with a playground.
