HISTORY

Ratangarh, a Sub Division Churu District of Rajasthan, is located at NH 11 (Agra-Bikaner), on State highway No-7 (Kishangarh-Hanumangarh), Ratangarh is connected to the National capital through Delhi Bikaner Broadgage Railway. District Headquater Churu is 45 km west.

Ratangarh was founded by Surat Singh, the Maharaja of Bikaner in the year 1798 (Samvat-1855) while returning from churu with his son RatanSingh. He selected the place Kolasar and named it Ratangarh after his beloved son. Ratangarh is famous for its grand Havelis (Mansions) with frescoes, an architechtureal speciality of the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. It is also famous for  Handicrafts.
