To enhance the Technical Education in tribal area of Rajasthan. The hon’ble Chief Minister of Govt. of Rajasthan announced in 2009-10 budget announcement Point No. 165 that new polytechnic colleges will be open in  Baran (Distt. Baran) and academic year 2010-11.

Baran district is tribal area they are backward in technical education. This region population is near about 9 lakh. Govt. I.T.I and Degree College are already available in the Baran. Some Industries are established in the Baran region and some new project has been also started in this region. So there will be lot of requirement of technical manpower in this region in future. Directorate of Technical, Jodhpur (Rajasthan) identified  Seven courses for this Institute having total Intake 360 students per year .
