MECHANICAL ENGINEERING LABORATORIES

MECHANICAL WORK SHOP

Basic workshop consists of four different sections as

1. Fitting section.

2. Sheet Metal section

3. Welding/Soldering section

4. Carpentry section

This lab is common for all branches of 1st year students with necessary facilities to conduct lab. Workshop provides basic knowledge of fitting process, sheet metal process and welding. One of the main objectives is to provide facilities that enable students to develop their creativity.

Major Equipment in Workshop Technology lab: - Bench vices, Workbenches, Bench drilling machine, Bench grinder, Power hacksaw machine, Arc welding machine.

TOOLS, APPARATUS, WORK BENCHES, WELDING SET, DRILL MACHINE

MACHINE SHOP

The Machine Shop provides engineering students with a well-equipped, safe working environment as well as machine operation instruction in which students can prepare various specimens and their projects supporting their engineering class work and research through on-site technical guidance and safety training.

AUTOMOBILE LAB

The automobile lab provides engineering students with a well-equipped, In this lab student practiced on power tansmission Mechanism, steering mechanism, breaking mechanisnand et... They include exhaust gas analyzer, Orsat apparatus, dial type spring tester, .PETROL ENGINE TEST RIG,IGNITION SYSTEM,TOOLS, EQUIPMENTS, DIFF. WHEEL AND AXLE, GEAR BOX, FUEL PUMP

HEAT ENGINE

Heat engine laboratory is one of the core laboratories of mechanical engineering. This laboratory consists of various heat engines covering both internal and external combustion engine. More specifically the laboratory consists of variety of internal combustion engine. Such as single cylinder, petrol engine, diesel engine, air and water cooled engine. This laboratory gives hands on experience on engine testing and emission testing to the UG and PG level mechanical engineering students. In addition to this the laboratory consists fuel testing, boiler performance testing computerized internal combustion testing facility for doing research in internal combustion engine and steam related research.

IC ENGINE, PETROL ENGINE TEST RIG, DEISEL ENGINE TEST RIG, IGNITION SYSTEM TRAINER, MODELS OF BOILER

FLUID MECHANICS LAB

Fluid Mechanics laboratory provides a “hands on” environment that is crucial for developing students understanding of theoretical concepts.

In fluid mechanics laboratory we observe the behaviour of fluid flow under different laws of Fluid Mechanics with state of the art equipment.

TURBINE TEST BENCH, CENTRIFUGAL PUMP, FRICTION TRAINER, HYDRAULIC BENCH, MODEL OF KAPLAN AND PELTON

APPLIED MECHANICS

This laboratory covers the fundamental concepts of Engineering Mechanics which should be taught to the student of Mechanical Engineering at the preliminary level. This includes the external forces on bodies and their external effects i.e dealing with rigid body mechanics only. Also, it deals with equilibrium of rigid bodies, forces on frames and machines, cables subjected to various loadings, friction on horizontal and inclined planes, forces on crane jib and simple suspension bridge along with simulation software for the demonstration of uniformly distributed loadings(UDL) and point load etc..

TRAINING BOARD, LIFTING MACHINES, PULLEY SYSTEMS. PARALLELOGRAM BOARD,WHEEL AND DIFF,FRICTION TEST

RAC LAB

The objective of RAC laboratory is to conduct trial on various test rigs such as Vapour Compression Refrigeration System Test Rig, Air Conditioning System Test Rig . This helps the students to get practical insights into the working and performance evaluation practices of such systems.

REFRIGERATOR TEST RIG, AC TEST RIG, COMPRESSOR MODEL, TOOLS

CAD LAB

Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) and developed in order to shorten the process of designing and manufacturing. The main objective of this laboratory is to provide the undergraduate and students with the knowledge and techniques of the research and application of CAD. The CAD center has been created exclusively to cater training of all students in the latest CAD and CAM software’s. In addition, the CAD resources are utilized in undergraduate and post-graduated
