ABOUT BRANCH 
Chemical engineering is one of the oldest branches of engg. Origin of this can be traced back to 1839.Chemical engg. touches our daily lives directly and indirectly in many ways.  Chemical Engineering is a branch of Engineering that applies concepts of physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics and economics to produce, transform, transport and use chemicals, materials (raw materials, products or by products) and energy. It include subjects like Heat transfer, Mass transfer, Thermodynamics , Hydraulics, Chemical reaction engg, Mechanical operation, Industrial safety & Environmental engg, petroleum technology, Process equipment design & plant utilities, Cement and fertilizer technology.
This discipline place active role in Govt.( DRDO,BPCL,GAIL,NPCIL etc) and private industries like pharmaceutical, food processing ,fertilizer ,pulp and paper , cement, petroleum etc.

It includes one month industrial practical training and one month project in course.

YEAR OF COMMENCMENT :  1974

INTAKE : FIRST YEAR  -  20 + 1  TFWS additional seats
               LATERAL ENTRY (Direct 2nd Year) -  04 seats

DURATION : 03 Years

1	UNIT OPERATION LAB -A	In this lab heat and mass transfer practicals can be performed. Equipments:- Distillation , shell and tube heat exchangers , single and multiple effect evaporator , tray dryer, cooling tower, Crystallizer , vertical condenser, emissivity apparatus etc.
2	UNIT OPERATION  LAB -B	In this lab unit operation and  mechanical operations practicals can be performed. Equipments:-  jaw crusher, Rotary dryer, ball mill, mixer high speed etc.
3	PROCESS  TESTING LAB	In this lab Process testing practicals can be performed. Equipments :-pH meter, Flash and fire point apparatus, Turbidity meter, Softening point apparatus, Redwood viscometer etc.
