Dr. N.K. Sharma, obtained his B.Sc. (Ag.) and M.Sc. (Ag.) Extension Education from SKN College of Agriculture, Jobner.

Dr. Sharma, after serving for about six months in Rajasthan State Govt. as Inspector, Cooperative, Jodhpur (1985-86) joined as Scientist (Agril. Extension) at ICAR’s Central Sheep & Wool Research Institute, Avikanagar (Tonk) and pursued his Ph.D. in Dairy Extension Education at National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal (ICAR) during 1991-1994. In 1996 he got selected in SKRAU, Bikaner as Assoc. Prof. and joined at ZARS, Mandore, Jodhpur. In September, 2000 he was transferred to SKNCOA, Jobner. At Jobner he has worked as Head of the Department of Extension Education. He got promoted as Professor w.e.f. September, 2004. After formation of SKN Agriculture University, Jobner in September, 2013 Dr. Sharma has worked in various capacities as Director Education, Director Research and Registrar of the University.

Dr. Sharma in addition to teaching, has guided about 20 M.Sc. & Ph.D. scholars as major advisor and published more than 60 research papers & articles in International and National journals and attended various International & National conferences and has following prestigious awards to his credit:

 

‘Senior NDRI Research Fellowship’ was awarded during 1991-94

‘First Best Paper award and citation’ received for the paper published in Indian Journal of Dairy Science 2004, in the field of “Dairy Economics & Extension” Title of the paper is : Motivational analysis of Organization’s Climate in Dairy Development Organization.

‘RASHTRIYA GAURAV AWARD’ received for meritorious services, outstanding performance and Remarkable Role. Presented by Dr. Bhishma Narain Singh, Former Governor of Assam and Tamil Nadu, at a National Seminar on “Economic Growth and National Integration” at New Delhi, on 16th July, 2011.

‘Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award and Certificate of Excellence’ received for outstanding individual achievements and distinguished services to the Nation on 26th August, 2011.

‘Best Citizens of India Award, 2011’ received for overall achievements

‘Winner in Badminton’ in ICAR Zonal Tournament held at Pali (CAZRI, Jodhpur), Year 1990.

‘Best Teacher’s Award’, 2014 from Confederation of Education Excellence, New Delhi.

The ICAR has allotted 42 KVKs to the state of Rajasthan, of which following 7 KVKs are under the administrative control of the Directorate of Extension Education, SKNAU, Jobner.

Besides these, KVK Chomu, Jaipur & KVK Banasthali, Tonk are run by the NGOs, KVK Bansoor by the ICAR but are given technical back up by the Directorate of extension education as & when required.
