HISTORY

Government Bangur College, Didwana was established in 1951 as intermediate college by Government of Rajasthan to cater to the needs of rural and urban students the college has magnified in to a prime co-educational institution of this Marwar area of the State. From 1958 onwards graduation level teaching is started in this college. Drawing patronage and blessings of renowned Bangur business family native of Didwana this college flourished and presently postgraduate teaching in Arts, Science and Commerce faculties are going on in this college. Generous contributions from Bangur family a prime industrial house of Rajasthan helped in enriching the buildings, laboratories, library and playgrounds etc. of this college significantly. 

Affiliated earlier to University of Rajasthan (up to 1986) and presently having its affiliation with M.D.S. University, Ajmer this college has above 3000 students. The postgraduate teaching in this college started in 1981. The college is mainly funded by State government to meet out its expenses towards salaries, laboratories (Chemicals, equipments, etc), office, buildings, physical education department and cultural activities etc. In addition, the development grants are also received from the University Grants Commission since V plan period to improve under graduate and post graduate teaching. To facilitate and conduct advance research some faculty members are registered as research guides.
