HISTORY

Maharani Shri Jaya College was established by the erstwhile Maharaja of Bharatpur in 1941 as an intermediate college with an objective ‘Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye’ i.e. Education to Liberate. Later it was upgraded to Degree College in 1947 and subsequently to the level of P.G. College in 1977. It also enjoyed the status of an autonomous college from 1987 to 1995. The college, popularly known as M.S.J. College is one of the oldest colleges of  Rajasthan. It is a government institution affiliated to the Maharaja Surajmal Brij University, Bharatpur (Rajasthan)-321001. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (U.G.C) under 2f and 12 (B) in 1972 and has been receiving grants under various schemes.
