ABOUT PRINCIPAL 

Dr. R.K. Purohit
Principal, Government Dungar College, Bikaner

Dr. R.K. Purohit has been serving Government Dungar College, Bikaner, for the past 33 years, contributing extensively to the fields of teaching and research. A Professor of Zoology, he currently holds the position of Principal at the college.

An expert in Radiation Science, Dr. Purohit has published approximately 150 research papers in reputed national and international journals. He has participated in around 150 national and international conferences, where he has delivered invited lectures, chaired sessions, and presented keynote addresses. Notably, he has delivered keynote lectures in Japan and the United States and has visited several countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Indonesia, among others.

Dr. Purohit has successfully supervised 28 Ph.D. scholars and 30 M.Phil. students. He has also organized three national and two international conferences.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Dr. Purohit has received numerous prestigious national and international awards, including the District Administration Award, Bharat Jyoti Award, Best Citizen of India Award, Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award, ISHEER Award, and the Who’s Who Award (USA).

He is a life member of various national and international academic societies. Presently, he serves as the National Secretary of the Indian Society for Radiation Biology and the State President of the Social Research Foundation, Kanpur. Additionally, he is the convener at Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner, and an external member of the Board of Studies at Pt. DUSU, Sikar.
