INTRODUCTION

                      The huge and magnificent building of S.N.K.P. Government College, Neem Ka Thana, was constructed in the memory of Seth Nand Kishor Patwari, a noted social worker, huminist and philanthropist by Patwari Brothers who were equally concerned about providing quality higher education for people of the region at their doorstep who were otherwise not capable of affording the ever-increasing cost of higher education. Since it's formation and affiliation to the University of Rajasthan in 1966, this institution has been shining as radiant jewel in the arena of higher education always catering to the needs of people of the region. Though located in municipal area, it predominantly attracts the students from the adjoining and remote villages of its surrounding because of its reputation as an excellent center for learning. Initially this institution provided undergraduate courses but with increasing demands and unparalleled interest displayed by the people of this region this centre of higher education was upgraded in 1996 by the Government of Rajasthan and many centers of postgraduate courses were added.

                    Presently, the College offers six undergraduate courses in the faculty of science comprising of Chemistry, Botany, Physics, Zoology, Mathematics and Geology. The faculty of Arts consists of Nine departments, viz. Hindi, English, History, Political Science, Philosophy, Sanskrit, Sociology, Geography and Economics. In the Faculty of Commerce, there are three departments, i.e. Accountancy and Business Statistics, Business Administration, Economic Administration and Financial Management.  The facilities of post graduate courses are available in subjects Accountancy and Business Statistics, Business Administration, Economic Administration and Financial Management, Hindi, History, Geography, Political Science and Chemistry.

                     The College also tries to impart value based education by organizing lectures on regular basis by eminent personalities. In addition to it, the activities of NCC Cadets, NSS Volunteers, Rovers of Scouts and Guides, and YDC are organized regularly in order to provide opportunities to develop the overall personality of students.  We also provide a safe and secured environment to the girls to pursue their studies without any fear. There is committed teaching faculty always at the service of students. Academic standards are very high. Research facilities are available in some of the subjects.  Consistent with the aims, the college produces young men and women as useful and productive citizens of the country.
