Government Meera Girls’ College, Udaipur esteemed as the first and the largest post graduate college for women in the Udaipur region of Rajasthan State is fortuitous to be situated in the picturesque tourist destination city of Lakes, Government Meera Girls College, Udaipur is the biggest and top-ranking Post-Graduate women’s college in south Rajasthan. The college is named after “MEERA” who had renounced the luxurious royal life and adopted sainthood in her avowed devotion for Lord Krishna; thus symbolic of educative values of dedication, devotion and sincerity for attainment of life-goals.

 The college has witnessed growth over the years- from offering courses at the intermediate level since its inception in 1959 to offering post-graduate courses in all streams- Arts, Science and Commerce since 1977. Affiliated to Mohan LalSukhadia University, Udaipur, the college offers UG courses in 25 subjects and PG courses in 18 subjects catering to the educational needs of girl students in the tribal heartland of Rajasthan. The college has successfully endeavored in maintaining its high academic standards.

For nurturing the overall personality of women students, various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are regularly organized including sports- a field in which girl students have earned laurels under able guidance and training. For exploring the latent potential of women students and providing platform for expression, various programs and activities are efficiently organized under NSS, NCC YDC and Rangering. Conferred the status of “Centre of Excellence-Model College” by the Commissionerate, College Education, Rajasthan, Jaipur, the college is well-equipped with necessary infrastructure like separate library building, administrative block, two women’s hostels with comfortable residential accommodation, computer lab, internet wi-fi facility and above all, the able and qualified teaching faculty.

Endowed with commendable credentials, the college has been accredited “A” grade by NAAC and is also a beneficiary of RUSA since 2015.
