HISTORY

Jhunjhunu district of Shekhawati zone is situated in the north east of Rajasthan state has been a major center of education. As a first co-educational government college at the jhunjhunu district headquarter, allotment of 15,444 square yards land to construct college building was issued on 06^th May, 2005 by district collector. On 09^th June, 2005, Shri Gautam R. Morarka carried foundation stone laying ceremony in the memory of his revered father Shri Radheshyam R, Morarka. The magnificent, attractive and fully furnished college building was inaugurated on 26^th March, 2006 by the then chief minister of Rajasthan, Smt. Vashundhra Raje in the presence of speaker of Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha Smt. Sumitra Singh and chief trustee R.R. Morarka charitable trust Shri Gautam R. Morarka.

It was 2004, when regular classes for graduation level (UG) started in all three streams – Arts, Commerce and Science. Since then college has never looked back and upgraded to post-graduation (PG) level in 2007 for subjects Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Geography was added in 2009 and Political Science in 2016 at PG level. In its academic excellence and research endeavor, college has been established as a research center in Geography, Political Science, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in 2023.

            The college is affiliated to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Shekhawati University, Sikar and is a nodal college having 2(f) and 12(B) recognition by UGC and is a NAAC accredited college. In its first cycle of NAAC accreditation, the college got grade “B” with 2.36 score in the year 2023. The college added new feathers in its crown in 2024 as state government has added two new subjects – Computer Application and Sociology in UG and a new program BBA as a professional degree course.
