BEST PRACTICE - 1

  1. Title of the Practice: Well-managed the functions/co-curricular programs.
  2. Goal:
  • To prepare the students for the future.
  • To prepare best next generation/citizens for the nation.
  • To make impression on the public by doing well well-managedic functions.
  • Do responsibility as a higher education institute.
  1. The Context:

It is the responsibility of higher education institute to provide platform to the students for their overall development with better higher education and classroom study.  Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Government P G College, Nimbahera (Rajasthan) organizes co-curricular activities and public functions every year, including the inauguration of the students union, cultural week, and annual prize distribution function. All stakeholders, students, leaders, and other public are involved in these events.

  1. The Practice:

College is organizing well managed co-curricular activities and public functions every year with the classroom study. Beyond the classroom activities the College has been doing following activities/practices every year:

  • As per guidelines and timeline given by the DCE/CCE, the College is completing fare and transparent admission process. The admission process starts from the first week of June and is completed up-to first week of July for fresh admissions in first year of graduation. The online admission process is adopted from the session 2014-15 and before that the manual process was running.
  • Student Union Election holds generally in the last week of August month every year and the College completed it as per the guideline prescribed by the DCE on the basis of suggestions given by the Lingdoh Committee and done fare as well as unbiased.
  • Inauguration of the elected students’ union function is decided on the basis of written and passed proposals of the members of the students union and recommended by the student union advisory committee. The guests are invited by the College suggested by the student union and generally it is organized like a public function.
  • Cultural week organizes in December- January every year, and literary, cultural & all other co-curricular activities are managed under various forums like literary and cultural committees, student unions, women cell, planning forum etc. Inauguration and closing ceremony honored by the guest invited by the forums/college. Students participate and join with full of joy and zest.
  • The Annual Function organizes in the last week of January every year. This program was also arranged by the College on the basis of a proposal from the student union and a recommendation from the student union advisory committee. The guests are invited by the College as per suggested by the student union and generally it is organized like a public function. prizes are distributed to encourage and motivate students.

5.         Evidence of Success:

  • Admission process completed as per norms as well as fare and transparent. The evidence of success can be seen as increasing number of applications for fresh admission.
  • Student union election completed fare and unbiased.
  • A lot of activities arrange and organize in the cultural week and students participate and join with full of joy and passion.
  • The Inauguration of the student union function is organized well managed and invited reputed guests. The Honourable Higher Education Minister and other Ministers of the Rajasthan Government have graced the event many times. In 2012, the College was promoted from UG to PG and the PG course M A in Hindi started from the session 2013-14. The Indira Gandhi Nahar Minister Sh. Udaylal Anjana is the Chief Guest of the function of 2020. In the year 2018-19, Sh. Shrichand Kripalani honourable Urban Development Minister of Rajasthan graced the college function. and Science Stream (UG-B Sc Course) takeover by the state government as well as three P G courses sanctioned for this college. MLA, MP and local leaders are generally the chief guests of these functions/events.

6. Problems Encountered and Resources Required:

Innovations and new practices can cause problems for the College, staff and students, such as online admission and Student Union Elections. However, next year all stakeholders will be familiar with the new practice and used to it. EVM can help solve these problems, but short of staff is a serious issue.

BEST PRACTICE 2

  1. Title of the Practice:  Entrepreneurship/Skill based capacity building- Summer Camp (2018 & 2019).
  2. Goal:

The objectives of adopting above selected courses for regular students of Government College Nimbahera in summer camp are as follows:

  • To develop and enhance employment oriented skills.
  • To increase confidence in youth and to enhance knowledge so that they can identify themselves and become useful to society.
  • Providing skillful education and equal opportunities to the students helps in their qualitative development and also remain helpful in the process of becoming employment oriented.
  1. The Context:

Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar P.G. Government College Nimbahera organized two summer camp programs for skill upgradation for students in 2017-18 and 2018-19. These camps were organized to direct the energy of youth towards life and positivity because most of the students are from rural backgrounds.

  1. The Practice:

The above Summer Camps were organized in June in both years and were totally free of cost to the interested students so that they can make good use of the Summer Holidays. The program of session 2017-18 on Basic Knowledge of Computer was organized in association with Rajasthan Skill and Livelihood Development Corporation-RSLDC and in the session of 2018-19 the program initiated koushal unniyan- Computer Basic Knowledge. The efforts are made by entire college staff and classes were taught by computer tutor Mr. Puneet Rao Maratha.

  1. Evidence of Success:

33 students in 2017-18 and 23 in 2018-19 were benefited by summer camp programs. During the pandemic, classroom teaching was suspended and e-classes/e-contents were used to continue the teaching. Those who completed the courses are comfortable with these online teaching methodologies, helping them in higher education studies and employment.

  1. Problems Encountered and Resources Required:

Many challenges encountered during summer camps which are as follows:

  • To develop related skills in the students by successfully completing it in the summer vacation.
  • To maintain the consistency of students in the prescribed training programs as per the application received.

 Distinctiveness

The personality development of the rural class students.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Govt. PG college is mainly attributed for it’s distinctive and notable steps in relation to student’s community elation and empowerment. It has been observed that the college has always tried, from the outset, to devise different approaches in the college to encourage the students in different sphere of life. Among its distinct performative factors, the college insightful attempts to uplift or empower the rural background students in different sphere is commendable. Moreover nearly ninety percent students of the college are from interior rural areas and round about seventy percent among them are girls. Prior these rural belonging students were being deprived in many educational forms due to their financial and other reasons which lead them to confront different academic challenges throughout years and many of them even failed to make a successful career. Hence to keep in mind all these student’s oriented issues the college is taking significant steps and also executing different distinctive activities in relation to rural background students. They are following discuss here in brief:

Book Bank (Donated Books): The college existing book bank aim is to help the students by providing them course related and other essential books which are unaffordable particularly for the poor rural family class students. Moreover, the bank stores the magazines and journals on current issues and also one can access autobiographical, nonfictional, literary texts as well.  Furthermore in present scenario the role of local charitable trust in college book bank can’t be overlooked. Every year the trusties donate plentiful books in the college book bank. However among these books many are quite expensive and easily not find in the market. Thus such remarkable contribution by the respective charitable trust is helping many poor students in the college. For instance, the trust named Omvati charitable trust has donated approximately three thousand book in college book which have been distributed particularly among the rural background students. Despite there are many individual Bhamashah who are also making contribution by donating books in college book bank. The book stocks and distribution of the books are being kept under the vigilance of college authority. Through its distinctive initiative the college has played a quintessential role to wipe out the problems of the books for the students mainly for those belonging to rural poor class family.

Communication Skills:

The communication skill has become the necessary part of every students life in today’s advanced world. This skill plays a substantial role to reflects someone personality. The government is also trying to encourage the students by starting different skills training courses and literary programs at college level to enhance communication skill. Even the college also organizes literary program, poetry recitation, and training course every years to empower the speaking ability of the students. Besides the college is trying to improve conversational skill of the students especially of rural areas by implementing some effective majors such as beginning of language classes and online apps as well. The beginning of language classes is a nice initiative for the students where they are trained through the practice of LSRW by the erudite language experts

Competitive exams preparation:

Nevertheless the college is making efforts to prepare the students for the competitive exams by using various approaches with the help of senior faculty, subject experts and through online educational apps. However, the senior faculty arranges weekly extra classes for the needy rural class students. Meanwhile the students are using online educational apps like Dishari Yojna which consist of materials on different competitive exams. Moreover, the college has arranged the authentic and qualitative question papers which are prepared mainly for the preparation of the competitive exams. These question papers include both subjective and objective study material. They are prepared at college level with the help of erudite scholars and senior faculty of the respective department.

Additionally, there are other activities ongoing in the college for the sake of student’s holistic development specifically belong to village areas. Among other co-curricular activities, that exist in present period, the prominent is the ICT TRAINING. During Covid-19 period the college consistently keep on  teaching through different online social media apps such as You tube, Google drive and WhatsApp etcetera. Thus all these above discussion signifies the fact that college has made noteworthy attempts to brigthen and exhilarate the student’s morale in terms of competitive exams and career. Despite all these remarkable steps taken by the college in recent period are helping presently the college students particularly from rural middle class background.
