About the Department:- 

The Department of Botany, Maa Jalpa Devi Government College, Taranagar was esrablished in 2008 at south-west corner of the inner campus of college. The department is one of the well developed and progressive department of college. Laboratory are actively engaged in different areas of plant. 

At presrnt 03 faculties (01- Assistant Professor and 02 SFS Faculty) have working in department with the full of academic and other activity various academic, Botanical excursion, Botanical Garden, Exhibition, Sarvey and other Co-curriculum activities organised by botanical associate of the Department.

Academic Programme in Botany:- 

  1. Department started offering Bachelor Degree in Science (Bio.) streams from 2008.
  2. Under the Self-Finance Scheme (SFS) the Department of Botany offers two years master Degree (M.Sc.) in Botany from 2018.
  3. Leading to master degree in Botany under RAJCES from 2022.
  4. The basic specialization offers in Botanty id Plant Ecology.
