The college is situated in the heart of the town of Jalmahal i.e. Deeg. Deeg has been the capital of maharaja Surajmal and his posterity. During the reign of maharaja Surajmal (1748-1763) and maharaja Jawahar Singh (1763-1768) Bharatpur has been a powerful territory. Under the command of these rulers the Jat warriors of this state invaded up to Agra and Delhi and obtained many stone images from historical places there and established them in the places of Deeg, of them the swing of Noorjahan and Baradari are particularly notable. The fort of Deeg is the best model of age long grandeur, architecture and military outflanking. In the old days of Delhi saltnat, Maratha and Britishers (1805-1826) many battles were fought here which determined the fate of Bharatpur. Due to ‘Jalmahal’ Deeg is also a popular tourist centre. There are so many flower gardens and beautiful parks in the Jalmahals. The coloured fountains of Deeg have gained global recognition and attracted tourists not only from India but abroad also. Presently the protection of ‘Jalmahals’ is under the supervision of central archaeological department.
