CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS

Behavior Discipline or Code of Conduct for students in the Classroom and College Campus - Do's and Don'ts

  1. Students should be punctual and regular to attend classes, practical examinations and various important occasions etc. Non-achievement of required attendance percentage, non-submission of assignments and absence from tests/examinations will be considered as violation of the code of conduct.
  2. At the beginning of each term the student should ensure to sit in his/her classes and not enter or leave the class without the permission of the lecturer.
  3. Use of mobile phones during class hours is prohibited and punishable.
  4. Any malpractice (copying, impersonation, use of unfair means, exchange of answer sheets) during examinations is punishable.
  5. Students should follow the notices displayed on the notice board (both online and offline) carefully. In case the notices of the Board are ignored, no excuse will be entertained.
  6. When a lecturer is absent or unable to attend class, students should maintain discipline among themselves so that the surrounding classes are not disrupted.
  7. Treat members of student staff and their fellow students with courtesy inside and outside the college. Students should not do any such work which will harm the reputation of the institute.
  8. Students are expected to come to college in decent clothes.
  9. Students should wear and display their Identity Card at the gate when entering the College, and should always keep it safe inside the campus during the duration of the College. If asked to show the identity card by the college administration, one should always politely show the identity card.
  10. Students are not allowed to stand or walk on the verandahs or corridors of the College during the term of the College.
  11. Students should not invite students, outsiders or friends from other institutions to the college.
  12. It is the responsibility of the students to keep the toilets located in the college clean. Disciplinary action will be taken against the student for defacing the walls of the college or classrooms.
  13. Smoking, chewing and spitting of tobacco, consumption of alcohol or intoxicants is strictly prohibited inside the college premises. Violation of this rule will result in immediate disciplinary action. College campus is a smoke free area, all students should respect it.
  14. Students should keep the library books clean and deposit them on time.
  15. Mishandling and tampering with the computer system of the college is a punishable act.
  16. The right to enter the Girls' Common Room is reserved for girls.
  17. All male students should behave decently with female students. Appropriate action will be taken on receipt of complaint.
  18. No student shall disturb the peace in and around the college premises.
  19. Students shall not engage in sports or any recreational activity anywhere in the college campus, even in small groups, during lecture hours.
  20. Ragging is a punishable offence. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in the college. Strict penal action will be taken against the violators of this rule.

 

Code of Conduct for Teachers in the Classroom and College Campus - Do's and Don'ts

  1. Behave responsibly among your peers and the community.
  2. Manage your personal affairs to the dignity of the profession.
  3. Sustain his professional development through study, research, writing and civilized conduct.
  4. Active participation in professional meetings, seminars, conferences etc. should be taken for the enhancement of knowledge.
  5. Maintain active membership in professional associations, subscribe to academic/thematic journals, and strive to improve education and profession through them.
  6. Do your duties honestly and with dedication in the form of teaching work and practical work.
  7. To assist the carrying out of functions related to the academic responsibilities of the University such as: assisting in the evaluation of applications for admission, advising students, as well as conducting University and College examinations, including supervision, oversight and evaluation. assisting in operation.
  8. Participation in community service and extra-curricular activities.
  9. Respect the right and dignity of the student in expressing his opinion.
  10. Treat students fairly, regardless of their religion, caste, gender, political, economic, social and physical status.
  11. Recognize the difference in aptitude and abilities among students and try to meet their individual needs.
  12. Encourage the students to improve their achievements, develop their personality all round as well as contribute to community welfare.
  13. To inculcate scientific, progressive and rational outlook and respect for manual labor and national ideals of democracy, patriotism and peace among the students.
  14. Be soft spoken and affectionate towards the students and do not act vindictively towards any of them for any reason.
  15. Focus only on the student's achievement in the evaluation of merit.
  16. Provide support to students beyond their class hours and help and guide them without any remuneration or rewards.
  17. To help students develop an understanding of our national heritage and national goals.
  18. Inciting students against other students, colleagues or administration should be avoided.
  19. Treat other members of the profession as they themselves would like to be treated,
  20. Speaking respectfully to other teachers and providing assistance for professional improvement.
  21. Refrain from discrimination against fellow teachers on the basis of considerations of caste, creed, religion, race or gender.
  22. Must have a fully social and humane, democratic and rational attitude towards other teachers.
  23. A teacher should do everything possible to resolve local tensions and disputes.
