Mandates

Conducting On Farm Testing to identify location specificity of agricultural technologies under various farming systems.
Organize Front line demonstrations on various crops to establish its production potentials on the farmers fields and feed back information from field functionaries .
Organization of trainings of farmers to update their knowledge and skills in modern agricultural technologies and training of extension personnel to orient them in frontier areas of technology development .
To work as knowledge and resource centre of agricultural technology for supporting initiatives of public ,private and voluntary sector for improving the agricultural economy of the district.

Thrust Areas

To increase and sustain the productivity of different crops by seed treatment for controlling pests & diseases, plant protection measures and fertilizer, water and weed management.
Sustainable agriculture by use of bio-fertilizer, green manuring and not using chemicals in farming .
Introduction of improved and hybrid varieties of vegetables, their package of practices and establishment of new fruit orchards and hi-tech horticulture.
To increase milk production by management and feeding of milch animals, selection of improved breed, and providing good hygienic conditions.
Care and upliftment of farm families by food management practices and by creating awareness about food preservation techniques .
To organize skill oriented trainings on diversification in Agriculture, food processing , garment construction etc.
Farmers capacity building and women empowerment by formation of FIG and SHG.
